Channels, Frequencies/Talkgroups and Areas

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) uses the GRN in all areas where its footprint reaches for communications between vehicles and unit headquarters. In country areas where the GRN footprint does not reach, conventional UHF PMR frequencies are used. Communication between emergency volunteers at a site usually occur on the UHF PMR simplex frequencies (SIMPSH#). UHF CB may also be used for site communications.
